Do you install customer-supplied parts?

At Crown Auto Repair we do our best to provide the most affordable, high-quality repair possible. At time we have customers ask if we can install the parts they purchase. Here is a list of our reasons for not installing customer-supplied parts and a brief explanation of why.

  1. Quality Control: We are concerned with the quality of the part purchased by the customer. With the availability of cheaper parts on the internet. It offers very low-quality parts with little to no warranty and high probability of failure. Inferior or incorrect parts can lead to further damage or safety issues, resulting in dissatisfied customers and potential liability for the shop.
  2. Warranty Issues: We offer a 3-year 36,000 mile warranty on parts (provided by us) and labor. Due to supplier warranty policies, we can not submit warranty claims on parts we did not purchase.
  3. Liability Risk: When we install parts on a customer's vehicle we assume responsibility for the performance and safety of those parts. If an accident or injury occurs due to a faulty customer-supplied part, we could be held liable.
  4. Time and Efficiency: Installing customer-supplied parts may require additional time and resources for us to verify compatibility, source missing components, or deal with unexpected complications. This can disrupt workflow and lead to delays in finishing the customer's car.

It is our professional responsibility to ensure the customer's car is safe, reliable, and as efficient as possible. We are only able to achieve this by sourcing the parts ourselves to ensure top quality and best-fitting parts.
